With roads closed for street parties to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next week, there will be some interruptions to trash collection.
During the four-day weekend, some city roads may be closed while street parties are held.
An Ipswich City Council spokesman said: “Our rubbish collection is exactly the same as normal during the Jubilee holidays with one exception.
“If your street is closed on Thursday, June 2 or Friday, June 3 for a street party, with the closure authorized by the Suffolk County Council, we will do the pickup on Monday, June 6.”
For those who live on the outskirts of Ipswich and may be under a different town hall, here’s when the bins will be picked up over the festive weekend:
Babergh and Mid Suffolk Council District:
Pickups that would normally have taken place on Thursday, June 2nd will take place on Saturday, June 4th.
Pickups that would normally have been done on Friday, June 3rd will now take place on Monday, June 6th.
All collections during the week beginning Monday, June 6 will be one day later than usual.
East Suffolk Council:
An East Suffolk council spokeswoman confirmed that there would be no changes to container collection during the Jubilee weekend and that people should present their containers for collection as usual.
