Christine Edwards, a Capitol police officer injured in the Capitol breach on January 6, 2021, testified Thursday in a House committee hearing.

“Even after suffering a traumatic brain injury, Officer Edwards patrolled West Capitol Square and prevented many rioters from entering the Capitol building,” the Jan. 6 Committee said.

Edwards’ injuries have prevented him from returning to the Capitol Police First Response Unit, but he expects to return to service later this year, according to the committee.
