The Warriors have lived under the motto “Strength in numbers” since Steve Kerr took over as head coach in 2014.
But everyone within the Warriors organization knows that it is really Steph Curry’s strength that makes the whole operation possible.
Curry has transformed the franchise of a perpetual NBA lottery draw into the bright lighthouse on top of the league’s mountain top. His work ethic, character, personality and greatness of all time have helped make the Warriors one of the most iconic dynasties in NBA history.
In Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday night, with the Warriors season essentially at stake at TD Garden in Boston, Curry put the team on their backs and wanted to get them an incredible victory. He scored a maximum of 43 points and caught 10 rebounds while facing an injury to his left foot.
Curry refused to let the Warriors fall into a three-game hole one, instead of sending the best of seven NBA Finals back to San Francisco tied at two games each.
After the Warriors’ 107-97 victory, Kerr spoke with Kerith Burke of the NBC Sports Bay Area about Curry.
“What makes it special is that his character, strength, and character match his skill and level of conditioning,” Kerr told Burke. “It’s all tied up. He just cares a lot. He works hard, so easy to train. Whenever he finishes training, I’ll look back and just thank Steph. Night after night. He’s made this situation as an easy organization for “And he’s a special, special player, a special person.”
Curry was the all-time performer in Game 4, and now he, Kerr, and the Warriors are two wins away from a fourth NBA title in eight seasons. They regained the lead on the home court for the Celtics and will try to take a three-game lead on Monday at Game 5 at the Chase Center.

Dub Nation hopes to see Curry dominate the league for a few more years, and they expect Kerr to remain coach for a long time after that.
If so, Kerr’s “Thanks” to Curry will have to wait.
