A GoFundMe page had reached $ 1.5 million at the time of writing with donations from billionaire investor Bill Ackman and others.
“We took him to a safe place in tragic circumstances, gathered to locate his grandparents and prayed for the safety of his family,” says the GoFundMe description signed by Irina Colon.
“Unfortunately, I have to share her name … Aiden McCarthy. And she needs more of our help. Her parents Irina and Kevin were killed during the July 4 shooting. At the age of two, Aiden remains in a position unthinkable, growing up without their parents.
“Aiden will be cared for by his beloved grandparents, Misha and Nina Levberg, and will have a long way to go to heal, find stability and finally navigate life as an orphan. He is surrounded by a community of friends and an extended family that will embrace you with love and with any means available to make sure you have everything you need as you grow up, ”reads the page.

Four more victims were called by the coroner on Tuesday afternoon: Katherine Goldstein, 88; Jacquelyn Sundheim, 63; Stephen Straus, 88; and Nicolas Toledo-Zaragoza, 78.
The seventh victim, who died Tuesday at the hospital, has not been named.
The family of Mexico-born grandfather Nicholas Toledo confirmed his death Monday afternoon.
Police spokesman Christopher Covelli said no motive had been established for the attack.
“We believe Crimo planned this attack for several weeks” and that he acted alone, he said.
“We have no information to suggest at this time that he was motivated by race, religion or any other protected status,” he added.
“There will be more charges,” Lake County Attorney Eric Rinehart told reporters. “We anticipate dozens of charges more focused on each of the victims.”
