Winnipeg police are looking for a man after an attempted kidnapping of minors

Winnipeg police say a man driving an SUV tried to grab a child from the street and is now looking for information to identify him.

According to police, officers responded to the report at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday on the 200 block of Austin Street North. Police said one person saw a man trying to grab a child who was in the area.

The boy was unharmed and the man drove away from the scene in a silver SUV.

Police said the man appeared white, about five feet seven feet tall, between the ages of 35 and 40, and a medium build. Police said the man was unshaven and had curly brown hair and was wearing a ball cap, a dark T-shirt, dark khaki pants and blue slippers.
