The Rams continue to find ways to pay their best players. This week, they have signed new contracts with defensive tackle Aaron Donald and receiver Cooper Kupp.
We took a look at the details of the Kupp deal. Here they are, according to a source familiar with the deal:
1. Signature Bonus: $ 20 million.
2. Base salary 2022: $ 10 million, fully guaranteed upon signing.
3. Bonus from the list of 90 players for the low season of 2023: $ 5 million, fully guaranteed at the time of signing.
4. Base salary 2023: $ 15 million, guaranteed for signature injuries and fully guaranteed at the beginning of the 2023 league year.
5. Bonus from the 90-season 2024 low season roster: $ 5 million, fully guaranteed at the start of the 2023 league year.
6. Base salary 2024: $ 15 million, fully guaranteed at the beginning of the 2023 league year.
7. 2025 player list bonus for 2025: $ 7.5 million, of which $ 5 million is fully guaranteed at the beginning of the 2024 league year.
8. Base salary 2025: $ 12.5 million.
9. 2026 Bonus from the 90-person list: $ 5 million.
10. Base Salary 2026: $ 14.85 million.
This is a five-year, $ 109.85 million contract, with $ 35 million fully guaranteed at the signing. Another $ 20 million will be fully secured in March 2023, with another $ 5 million fully purchased in March 2024.
The five-year contract pays $ 21.97 million annually. In new money applicable to the three-year extension of $ 80.1 million, an average of $ 26.7 million is paid annually.
