Brockville Police are currently investigating after a woman was found dead at a waste management facility on Friday, July 22, 2022.

According to Brockville police, staff at the Waste Management landfill and recycling facility on California Road in Brockville contacted local police shortly after 10 a.m. that day. Staff indicated that an unidentified dead female had been located in their recycling facility.
“Officers from the Brockville Police Service, including members of the Criminal Investigations office, attended the scene and located the woman among a load of cardboard that had been moved to the Brockville site from another location in waste transfer in eastern Ontario,” Brockville police said.
At that point, local police contained the scene and involved vehicles before requesting the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Eastern Region Forensic Identification Unit. As a result, the dead woman was positively identified.
“Next of kin have been located and notified and, at the request of the family, her identity will not be released,” police said in a news release on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, noting that the woman was in her 30s in that moment. of his death, and the Napanee-Belleville-Trenton area.
Police also indicated that a forensic autopsy was conducted on Monday, July 25, 2022 at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus. Officers from the OPP Forensic Identification Unit and Brockville Police attended this examination and are now awaiting the completion of further tests to complete the post mortem report.
“Investigating officers are in contact with other law enforcement agencies to try to determine how the young women got to the Brockville facility. There is currently no information to suggest there is any risk to members of the public,” said the Brockville Police.
