Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct detail expansion step, amiibo support, character classes

A new Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct has just aired and gave us a good look at a lot of new mechanics, locations, characters and much more.

There’s no time to go over everything that comes up, we imagine that if you’re a fan you’ve probably already seen it, but what follows are the main headlines.

Expansion past

The most important news here is that Xenoblade Chronicles 3, like its predecessor, will receive a multi-stage expansion Pass, with content that will be launched in four waves, starting with the launch of the game and ending in late 2023. first wave, which will be released along with the game on release day, will include “useful items” and costume color variations for your playable characters. The second wave, which will be released later this year, will feature challenging battles, new hero characters (temporary members of the group who can be swapped and out) and new costumes. The third wave includes pretty much the same things as the second, and will be released before the end of April next year, while the fourth and final wave will introduce a new storyline. It’s not entirely known if it will be as big as Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s Back: The Golden Country, but considering it can be up to 18 months, it’s probably going to be pretty heavy.

The expansion pass will be available from day one and will launch at a price of AUD $ 45, exactly the same price as the XC2. Not bad!

Amiibo support

There aren’t a lot of details about this, but considering the few games that seem to support amiibo these days, it’s definitely worth mentioning. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will support all amiibo, and the vast majority of them will only give you a useful article. However, if you scan the Super Smash Bros. amiibo. Shulk, you will be given a weapon look for the Swordfighter class, which will allow you to change the look of your weapon for the Monado. No specific amiibo was announced for this game, which is a bit disappointing, but I guess all we can do is wait and dream of the day Nintendo thanks us for a Nopon amiibo.

Character classes

This is a little more technical, so I’ll give you an overview of what’s on offer here. In the trailer, we saw that any of the six main playable characters can switch to the combat class they want. It looks like you will start the game with six classes, one for each character, of course, with the normal archetypes on offer: healer, DPS, tank, ranged attack, that sort of thing. You’ll be able to unlock more classes later in the game by hiring heroes to fight alongside you, and it looks like there will be plenty of people to hire. There is a lot more complex information in Direct, so if you can’t wait until next month, you can check it out below.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be released in retail and in the Nintendo Switch e-Store on July 29th. Stay tuned to Vooks soon for our Aussie Bargain Roundup so you can get a deal.
