A child has been mutilated by a dog while camping near Carnarvon.
The eight-year-old received serious injuries after being assaulted at a Gnaraloo camp around 7.30am on Saturday.
A Royal Flying Doctor Service plane transported the child to Carnarvon Hospital for medical treatment.
On Saturday evening, the RFDS was back on the road to take the boy to Perth.
The plane is expected to land at Jandakot Airport around 9pm before being rushed to Perth Children’s Hospital.
Police told 7NEWS the photographs of the boy’s wounds were too horrifying to release.
