Major bike brands have been quicker than an electronic gear change to incorporate the new Shimano 105 R7150 Di2 group into their latest releases.
The electrification of Shimano’s third-tier mechanical group 105 has been very long, leaving the mark behind its rivals.
The electronic SRAM equivalent of 105, Rival eTap AXS, was launched in 2021. Our technical writer Oscar Huckle has compiled a buyer’s guide comparing Shimano 105 R7150 Di2 with SRAM Rival eTap AXS.
Prior to the launch, we had asked Shimano to follow suit: a 12-speed 105 wireless group topped our Shimano 2022 wish list. It remains to be seen whether it will follow an updated mechanical version of 105.
So far, Shimano 105 Di2 has appeared on a variety of bikes, from the most prestigious models of some brands to mid-market options elsewhere.
While you can now order many of these bikes, some brands have told us that their bikes with the new group will not be available until 2023.
By contrast, others said they have no plans to specify a bike with Shimano 105 Di2. In the meantime, here are the bikes equipped with Shimano’s cheapest electronic group. We will update this article with more bikes as the details arrive.
