A Hamilton man died after a collision between several vehicles on York Boulevard

A Hamilton man has died after a multi-vehicle crash on York Boulevard in the early hours of Saturday night, marking the 13th road death of the year in the city.

In a press release Sunday afternoon, Hamilton police said that shortly after 7:30 p.m., a 61-year-old Hamilton man was driving a 2003 Nissan sedan heading south on York Boulevard just past the McQuesten High Level Bridge.

Police said the man entered the lanes in a northerly direction, driving down the road of an approaching 2008 Jeep Liberty. Then the side of the front driver of the Nissan trimmed the side of the rear driver of the Jeep, which was driven by a 30-year-old Hamilton man.

As a result of the collision, the Jeep suffered significant damage and stopped on the east side of the sidewalk.

After contacting the Jeep, police said the Nissan turned counterclockwise directly into the path of an approaching 2022 Mercedes-Benz, which was driven by a 27-year-old man. of the United States.

The two vehicles collided and the door of the Nissan passenger was hit by the Mercedes-Benz, according to police. The two cars finally stopped on the east side of the sidewalk.
