A 65-year-old man died Friday after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Merivale and Baseline roads at the western end of the city.

The Ottawa Police Service made the announcement in a statement Friday afternoon.
Patrol officers responded to the collision scene shortly before 11 a.m. The police statement said it was a 2020 black Ford F150 van pulling an orange trailer and a 2010 Dodge Journey SUV.
The man who died was the driver of the SUV.
The Ottawa Police Service said it would like to hear witnesses who had not yet spoken to police, including anyone who may have a video of the crash. Anyone with this information was asked to call the PAHO Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2481.

Four more people were treated, but their injuries were considered minor, the Ottawa Paramedic Service said.
