A man found dead in an electric pit at the SA site

A man has died in a South Australian building, with the probable cause of death at the age of 39 revealed.

A South Australian man has died while working on a construction site in northeast Adelaide.

The 39-year-old Seaford man was found unanswered Wednesday inside an electrical pit at a site along North East Rd in Walkerville.

It prompted an urgent call for help, and emergency services arrived at the scene around 9:30 p.m.

However, the worker in South Adelaide died at the scene.

SA police are now preparing a report for the coroner.

“There are no suspicious circumstances,” an SA police spokesman said.

According to 7 News Adelaide, the man suffered an electric shock.

SafeWork SA was informed of the incident.

“SafeWork SA inspectors have attended the site and are making inquiries,” a spokesman said.

“We will not post any more information at this time.”

Part of the traffic south along North East Rd was closed between Hampstead Rd and St Andrews St while emergency services remained at the scene.

The road has since reopened.
