A man found dead in Glasgow city center while police close a busy lane

A man has been found dead in Glasgow city center with police closing the site.

Emergency services were called to an Argyll Arcade location on Argyle Street around 5:40 a.m. Saturday, June 11th.

Sadly, a 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have closed Sloans Lane in the city’s busy shopping area while investigating the death.

The lane connects Buchanan Street with Argyle Street.

The death is believed not to be suspicious, but circumstances are being investigated.

A Scottish police spokesman said: “At around 5.40am on Saturday 11 June, police were called to the Argyll Arcade facility.

“Police and an ambulance attended and a 51 – year – old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Police investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the death, but no suspicious circumstances are believed.

“A report will be sent to the Prosecutor’s Office.”
