A busy North Staffordshire road has been closed for more than seven hours after a truck touched a roadblock. Police and firefighters were called to Tean Road Recreation Ground in Cheadle around 9:30 a.m. this morning to report a collision.
Images of the scene showed a truck crashing under the arch into the Tean Road Recreation Ground. More photographs showed the rear end of the wagon across the busy stretch of road.
Shortly after 1 p.m., neighborhood officers went to social media to confirm they were at the scene with firefighters and collision officials. They wrote: “The collision involved a truck with a trailer. No one was injured. Jubilee celebrations should continue as planned.”

Adam Grocott, director of the nearby AA Silencers Ltd, used a forklift to help after claiming that the pillars at the entrance to the playground had been damaged. The 41-year-old told StokeonTrentLive that he had seen up to three police cars and a fire truck.
He said: “It was around 9.20 in the morning, it’s been a long time since we heard it.

“The truck hit the arch and removed the pillars. On one side it removed the top of the pillar and on the other side the pillar was completely pulled off the ground.
“It’s just stuck there. We took out our forklift to lift the pillar and make it safe until the firefighters arrived. It was a bit in a state of shock, I didn’t expect to see it. It’s a pretty big trailer, it was Really Surprised, I can’t believe it happened. “
The Inrix traffic monitoring system reported that the road was still closed at 5:15 p.m.
