Hollywood star Kevin Spacey was today charged with a series of sexual offenses in the UK for eight years while directing one of London’s most historic theaters.
The 62-year-old star is on trial for four counts of sexual assault against three men between 2005 and 2013 in London and Gloucestershire, after Met police launched an investigation in 2017.
Spacey is also accused of “causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activities without consent.”
The Crown Prosecution Service revealed today that a man, now in his 40s, claims to have been sexually assaulted twice in March 2005. A second man, now in his 30s, claims that in August In 2008 he was sexually assaulted and then forced to have sex. act against their will. All these alleged incidents took place in London.
Finally, the third complainant, now in his 30s, said he was sexually assaulted in April 2013 in Gloucestershire. No court date has been set.
Spacey, the star of some of Hollywood’s greatest hits of the past three decades, as well as television shows such as House of Cards, was the artistic director of London’s Old Vic Theater from 2004 to 2015.

The Hollywood star is charged with four crimes:
Sexual assault (Earl 1) on a 40-year-old man in London in March 2005;
Sexual assault (count 2) on a man, now 40 years old [the same complainant as Count 1] March 2005 in London;
Sexual assault (Earl 3) on a man, now 30, in August 2008 in London;
Sexual assault (Earl 4) on another man, now 30, in April 2013 in Gloucestershire.
He is also accused of causing a person to engage in penetrating sexual activity without consent, in August 2008 in London. [the same complainant as Count 3].
Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS Special Crimes Division, said today: “The CPS has authorized criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 62, for four counts of sexual assault against three men.
“He has also been accused of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activities without consent. The charges follow a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in their investigation.
“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Mr. Spacey are active and that he is entitled to a fair trial.”
Spacey is a two-time Oscar winner and best known for his roles in American Beauty, The Usual Suspects and House Of Cards.
He came out as gay in 2017.
The 62-year-old actor was cautiously interviewed by the Metropolitan Police Complex Case Team in America in 2019. Last year they passed a case to the CPS.
Spacey did not attend the Cannes Film Festival last week. But he is one of the stars of a micro-budget film called Peter Five Eight, in which Spacey plays a villain.
Spacey plays Peter, a “charismatic man in a black sedan who shows up in a small mountain community.” He co-stars with actress Rebecca De Mornay, whom Peter seeks information at the behest of his “shadow” boss, Mr Lock.
The actor has remained at a low profile in recent years. He was spotted on set in Dunsmuir, California, smoking a cigarette in July last year.

Spacey, has denied all allegations of sexual harassment and assault. He is understood to live quietly in London, although it has recently been reported that he also spends time in Florida and Los Angeles in the British winter or while filming.
