After a nightly search by police and family, the 11-year-old elementary school student was found by residents after spending the night outside. Police said he was being assessed by paramedics and was cold, but had no visible injuries.
He got off the school bus at Annangrove Road, Annangrove on Wednesday at 3:20 p.m., and his family alerted police almost immediately when he did not return home.
“Obviously, they are extremely anxious, especially at night with temperatures as they have been here in The Hills,” Superintendent Darrin Batchelor said before the search resumed Thursday morning.
The Richmond area fell to an overnight low of minus 0.6 degrees at 4:20 a.m. Thursday.
