Apple unveiled iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura during its main presentation of the WWDC22. This year, the iPhone received a lot of love, especially when it comes to the lock screen. Gone are the days of all the iPhone lock screens that looked almost identical. Users can now change the font, add widgets, and set wallpapers with a depth effect. iOS 16 not only introduces this, though. We’ve also got improvements to Mail, Messages, FaceTime, Reminders and more. Beta 1 brought most of the changes that Apple announced during its conference. What’s new in iOS 16 beta 2
Continuity camera adjustments
iOS 16 beta 2 adds a pause button to the UI camera. This allows users to temporarily stop streaming video to their Macs from their iPhones.
New lock screen filters
iOS 16 beta 2 introduces two new lock screen filters: Duotone and Color Wash. You can test them by swiping horizontally in customization mode. Speaking of lock screens, this beta version also modifies its user interface (UI) and facilitates navigation through its process.
IMessage settings
When an iOS 16 beta 2 user edits an iMessage sent to someone with iOS 15 or earlier, they will now send duplicate text that reflects the changes made. In beta 1, this behavior was absent, and those who had earlier versions of the operating system had no way of knowing that a message had been set or what those edits were.
Mail settings
iOS 16 beta 2 also allows users to choose whether an email from a blocked sender stays in the inbox or will be automatically sent to the Trash. By default, these emails go to the Trash.
Focus adjustments
In addition, iOS 16 beta 2 also allows users to select which Focus modes share their status with apps. This allows you to share Focus with other people when you use work mode but not game mode, for example.
Back up to iCloud via mobile or Wi-Fi
According to Apple release notes, iOS 16 beta 2 allows users to back up their iPhones via 4G, 5G or Wi-Fi. This is ideal for those who rely on mobile data and typically do not have access to a Wi-Fi network.

Beta 1
IOS 16 beta 1 offered most of the features the company previously saw during WWDC 2022. iOS 16 will be available to all users this fall. Meanwhile, enthusiastic users can download the developer beta. That means they are enrolled in the respective program, which costs $ 99 a year. Those who prefer not to pay can wait in the public beta program. Apple has announced that it will be available in July. However, always remember that the experience is likely to be unstable and unstable.
