Shooting for grill positions in Baku was scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., local time.
However, there has been a change in schedule as a result of an incident at the end of the previous Formula 2 sprint.
After a restart of the safety car on the last lap, Ralph Boschung of Campos Racing had pushed Calan Williams into the barriers outside turn 1, before Cem Bolukbasi (Charouz) and Marino Sato of Virtuosi entered contact with the side of your affected Trident.
The damage to Tecpro’s barriers caused a long work by track officials and meant that the last free F1 training session began 15 minutes later than expected.
But since the FIA chose to run the session all the time, instead of starting the clock at the original start time, so it ended as scheduled at 4 p.m., it meant one hour completion time at 4:15 p.m. local time.
F1 has long had a rule that the classification cannot start less than two hours after the end of training, so it has affected the rest of the day’s schedule.
Article 39.1 b) of the F1 Sports Regulations states that in a non-sprint race weekend the classification will be made: “the second day of the track race and will start no less than two (2) hours, and no more three (3) hours.) hours after the end of P3. “

An FIA statement confirmed that there would be no intervention to shuffle the schedule to start at the original time.
He said: “After the delay in the start of FP3 which was due to the repair of barriers after the F2 speed race, the start of the classification will be 15 minutes later than expected according to the “Article 39 of the Sports Regulations”.
The slight delay in the F1 classification will be good news for some motoring enthusiasts, as it means that there is no longer a direct confrontation with the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race starting in France.
However, the additional 15-minute delay brings F1 closer to when it begins to get dark, and the classification must end at 7.15pm, less than an hour before sunset.
