A progressive group is turning the script on President Joe Biden, hoping that “many allied groups and notable individuals” will join them to launch a campaign against the president’s planned re-election proposal in 2024.
RootsAction told Fox News Digital on Monday its plans for a “#DontRunJoe” campaign to be launched on November 9, 2022, the day after the midterm elections.
“We oppose Biden running in 2024 because of his job performance as president,” RootsAction said the confusing Jeff Cohen told Fox News Digital in an exclusive statement.

The organization’s goal is to hamper the president’s campaign if he decides to run in 2024, ensuring he is not the Democratic candidate who will fight the GOP in the upcoming presidential election.

Cohen also told Fox News Digital that “Democrats would do better in this year’s midterm if the public knew Biden would not headline the ticket in 2024. We believe this would divert the attention of Biden voters to the Republican extremism, in everything from the right to abortion to the right to vote to the denial of climate change. “
The progressive organization said the only way not to continue with the campaign would be if Biden announced it would not seek re-election, before the scheduled release date.

In a press release Monday, RootsAction expressed that the organization believes that “Joe Biden should not be looking for [reelection]. If he does, he will have a fight in his hands. ”His decision comes after he said they felt the Biden administration had not done enough to address issues such as climate, voting rights and student debt.

Joe Biden, who holds the title of being the oldest president in history, has raised the concern of voters who do not believe he can run again in 2024. He will be 81 years old during the next round of presidential elections.
