Jurate Matulioniene, family friend and president of the Lithuanian community in Boston, said: “Lilia was a beautiful angel, she was quiet and loved to dance. The family used to come to all our community events and always they stayed late to help us clean up.
“I spoke to the mother and asked for her account details because we want to do a fundraiser, but she wouldn’t accept it.”
Photographs and videos posted on social media by Ms Savicke before her daughter’s death show a bright and happy girl who loved to dance, swim, go on boat trips and play with her little sister.
A bouquet of red roses laid at the scene of her killing bore a condolence card that read: “I’m sorry this cruel world took your life, beautiful girl. May you rest in the arms of the angels.”
