BREAKING: Child arrested after a man stabbed him in a park in broad daylight

A boy has been arrested for “attempted murder” after a man was stabbed in broad daylight.

In a desperate call today, Thames Valley Police Detective Rob Platt said there had been “many witnesses” as the incident happened “mid-afternoon”.

Officers have now arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder.

The man’s condition has changed from “critical” to “serious but stable”.

DI Platt, based at Banbury Police Station, renewed his appeal and added: “We are continuing with a full and thorough investigation into this incident and have now made an arrest.

“I would like to urge anyone with information or who has witnessed the incident to contact Thames Valley Police at 101, citing reference number 43220255119.

“I would like to reiterate my praise to the citizens who came to the victim immediately, applying first aid until the medical professionals arrived at the scene.

“Undoubtedly, their actions have given the victim the best chance of surviving their injuries, and I congratulate them on their prompt response.”
