What a value proposition.
Activision Blizzard franchises such as Call of Duty, Diablo and Overwatch will head to Xbox Game Pass after Microsoft acquires the publisher, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has said.
“We’re expanding choice in two ways: by creating Game Pass, which gives players a subscription option; and by bringing more games to mobile platforms, including through our cloud game streaming technology” , Spencer began as part of a larger blog post.
“Subscription services like Game Pass make gaming more affordable and help gamers around the world find their next favorite game,” continued Spencer. “Game Pass allows developers to bring more games to more players, not fewer. We intend to make Activision Blizzard’s much-loved game library, including Overwatch, Diablo and Call of Duty, available on Game Pass and make grow these gaming communities. By delivering even more value to players, we look forward to continuing to grow Game Pass, expanding its appeal to mobile phones and any connected device.”
Microsoft plans to complete its acquisition of the publisher sometime next year.
