COVID-19 update: May 27, 2022

WA Health reports a total of 9,948 new cases as of 8:00 pm last night. There are currently 69,758 active cases in Western Australia.

As of 8pm last night, there were 322 people with COVID-19 in the hospital, 9 in the ICU.

Unfortunately, today’s report includes 11 deaths, which date back to April 21 and were reported yesterday at WA Health; two women in their 90s, three women and two men in their 80s and four men in their 70s.

For reasons of confidentiality, the Department will not provide further information.

Notes

  1. These data are based on the residential zip code of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remaining reported daily cases (183) do not yet have an assigned region. The data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 9,948 cases, 3,707 were confirmed by PCR testing, the remaining 6,241 were self-reported positive antigen rapid tests.

A total of 11,529 PCR tests were performed yesterday in public or private pathology clinics.

WA has reported 705,723 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
