The daily count of COVID cases in WA has increased by more than 1300, while new records of hospitalizations and intensive care admissions have been set.
WA Health reported 6,815 new cases on Tuesday, up from 5,514 the day before.
The number of people hospitalized with COVID has reached 455, more than double that since the beginning of July, when it stood at 217, while admissions to the ICU have reached 20.
That’s more than 411 and Monday the 19th, respectively.

The daily update reported three deaths: two women in their 90s and a man in their 80s, dating back to July 6, which raised the state toll for the virus to 448.
The Australian Medical Association WA has used the sharp rise in hospitalizations to demand the return of mandatory mask use across the state, but Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson and Prime Minister Mark McGowan have resisted to these calls.
A state government announcement, however, has urged Western Australians to wear a mask inside.
And the prime minister, who previously described this winter as one of the toughest he had ever faced, confirmed on Sunday that he would put on the mask “seconds”, saying it was “the right one”.
WA has recorded 1,010,424 cases since the pandemic began.
