Crafting Survival Game Nightingale showcases the portal system at the Summer Game Fest

Nightingale is at the Summer Game Fest to ask a single question: “What if you could shoot the fairies with a gun?” And I’m here for that. Inflexion Games, the studio run by a former BioWare manager, has just shown the portal system for its next co-op survival title.

The latest trailer showed that the game will feature a “kingdom card” system, in which the player can choose their destination, suggesting a non-linear story system to the game. To get these kingdom cards (which are very similar to tarot cards), you have to draw them with rare resources. And the Nightingale character is almost made up of a wild sheep, so you’re definitely not playing as an all-powerful hero.

This craft shooting game was previously shown at The Game Awards last year. The trailer showed a group of adventurers trapped in the world of fairies. Players must use the portals to find their way to Nightingale, the last human city, where they can explore ruins and defend themselves from fae creatures in first-person combat. The official Steam page says that Nightingale is a PvE game with individual and cooperative mode.

The original trailer also showed an element of building settlements that allows farms and farms to be built. You will need to create your own tools, cook your own food, and make your own weapons, some of which may be imbued with magical properties. Of course, this also means that you have to pick up your own resources and recipes. As someone who was recently bitten by the V Rising bug, I hope Nightingale’s systems are equally absorbing.

The studio’s founder, Aaryn Flynn, was BioWare’s CEO until 2017. In his letter of departure, he said he had been considering a career change for some time and that he finally felt ready to leave. Casey Hudson returned to the studio. On July 18, he completed a 17-year career at BioWare.

The game will be released on PC in the last quarter of 2022. Early access testing will also begin in 2022 and you can register to receive notifications on the Inflection website. Developers currently expect the early access period to be between nine and 12 months.
