They may be mother and daughter, but Australian music veterans Marcia and Deni Hines no longer touch happy families.
Deni, 51, was taking part in a live Q&A session on TikTok when he answered a fan who asked him about his 68-year-old mother amid rumors of a bitter family dispute.
During the talk, the singer also revealed that she now lives in Asia and had no plans to return to Sydney due to inflation and the cost of living that have skyrocketed in Australia.

“I have no intention of going back to Sydney unless I’m going to make money. I want to live my life. I want to enjoy my life,” he told the Daily Mail Australia during live questions and answers.
“I don’t want to chase my ass by paying a mortgage or fighting,” Deni explained.
‘I like organic food. I like to eat good food. I don’t buy shitty food. Well, that’s expensive. This is very expensive.

Women’s Day reported last year that Deni and her mother had “fallen in love” and that she had been trusting her Dancing with the Stars co-stars about her fracture.
“There have been tensions between them for a long time, but this is quite common for many mother-daughter relationships,” a source told the magazine.
“Deni has never liked Marcia’s contribution to her career, and that has always put a lot of effort into things.”

Marcia said she had no idea Deni would be on Channel 10 and had no plans to see her perform because reality TV “is not mine”, despite appearing as a judge on Australian Idol between 2003 and 2009.
The mother and daughter haven’t posted much about each other on Instagram since their trip to Thailand in 2018.

A representative of Marcia told the Daily Mail Australia that she did not know of any fights.
