Dude builds an Xbox Series X that is over six feet tall

What is this, a series now? One guy is building a small PS5, so someone else has to go out and build a huge Xbox Series X?

(Obviously not, it’s weird to have two of these things in a week!)

Michael Pick, also known as The Casual Engineer, was inspired by Microsoft’s own attempts to turn the Xbox Series X into a refrigerator, but later became equally frustrated that the newer console no longer functioned as a console. So he set out to do something even bigger, and this time, build something that was still a functional video game console.

The result? This huge Xbox Series X is over 2 m (6.5 ″) high and 1 m (3 ′) wide. And okay, even though this required less hardware witchcraft than reducing a PS5 into a case that was only an inch wide, there is still an impressive level of craftsmanship and detail that has been incorporated into this construction. .

First of all, it works, you can connect it to a TV and play Halo on it without worries (the huge wooden frame actually has … a normal commercial unit inside). But Pick was also concerned with specifying the (now huge) details of the console, such as building replicas of all the correct ports and tags to go on the back of the console, which look very interesting with its increased size.

For what it’s worth, the build is now the Guinness World Record holder for the “Biggest Xbox Console” (which is a light stretch, as it’s really just a framework for a normal Xbox, but whatever ). And if you’ve come this far without seeing it all and wondering what an absolute unit will look like now, the good news is that an Atlanta YMCA has been given to kids to play on a console to increase an excessive amount of space in the room.
