Video game studios and publishers around the world have been celebrating, announcing and showcasing all their hard work this week, and it’s not over yet. On Friday, Summer Games Fest saw announcements from PlayStation, Activision, Warner Brothers, just to name a few. We also had an exciting presentation from the independent publisher Devolver Digital.
Here are all the great announcements of Summer Games Fest 2022:
A remake of the original 2013 game is on its way to PlayStation 5 and PC. (Dog intermingled)
No, it’s not a remaster! The Last of Us is being completely rebuilt for PlayStation 5 and PC. The full game as well as the Left Behind DLC will be released on September 2 this year.

In addition to the remake, game director Neil Druckmann confirmed that a standalone multiplayer game is on its way, highlighting a unique conceptual image during the showcase.
We also heard new details about the upcoming HBO series starring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsay as Ellie.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II
Players took a first look at a new campaign mission for Modern Warfare II. (Infinity Ward) Players have for the first time seen the upcoming Call of Duty franchise game with new details and an extended gameplay clip being shown on Friday at the Summer Games Fest.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II will hit consoles and PCs on October 28th.
The Callisto protocol will arrive on consoles and PCs on December 2 (Striking Distance Studios)
Originally announced in 2020, The Callisto Protocol is an upcoming third-person survival horror game from the creators of Dead Space. It is one of the most anticipated games on the list today. During the showcase we saw an extended game trailer, which describes some of the horrors that were there.
Described as a spiritual successor to Dead Space, The Callisto Protocol will hit PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC on December 2 this year.

Fort Solis is a new sci-fi horror story game set in Mars (Fallen Leaf)

Aliens Dark Descent seems to be a top-down shooter (Tindalos Interactive)
Another Alien game? It’s one of the most successful sci-fi movie franchises ever, so it only makes sense to milk it as much as possible. Arriving in 2023, Aliens Dark Descent seems to be a top-down shooter, not too different from Aliens: Fireteam Elite.
Fireteam Elite was released last year, so it will be interesting to see how Aliens: Dark Descent compares.

After an initial delay, we finally have the Marvel Midnight Suns. This long-awaited game from Firaxis Games (Civilization, XCOM) is a brand new tactical role-playing game set in the darkest side of the Marvel Universe.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be released on October 7 this year. The Nintendo Switch version has not yet received a release date.
