Then: It is believed that a chemical reaction occurs between baking soda and silver when hot water is added, removing any dirt and leaving the rings with a clean shiny appearance (pictured)
“All you need is a bowl of any kind, put some aluminum on the bottom, baking soda and then put on your jewelry,” Emma said.
“You can use this on earrings, necklaces, anything with real diamonds or fake diamonds, as long as it’s 925 [sterling silver]. ‘
He then added boiling water from the teapot directly over the jewelry and let the baking soda “work its magic”.
A chemical reaction between baking soda and silver is believed to occur when hot water is added, which removes any dirt and leaves the rings looking shiny.
In the comments, Emma also revealed another hack to make sure the jewelry is clean but not damaged during the process.
He recommended using a toothbrush to carefully clean each piece followed by a polishing cloth.
“I work at Pandora and the best way is to soak it in warm soapy water and rub it gently with a toothbrush! Use our polishing cloth, that’s how we do it!” she wrote.
Pandora, which has store locations in Australia, offers free cleaning services to polish its own customer products.
