Champions League final: tear gas used after the match
Liverpool star Jason McAteer was visibly excited when he shared details of his wife and son’s experience in the Champions League final.
Liverpool lost to Real Madrid at the Stade de France, but the experience was overshadowed by events outside the stadium before and after the match. Fans received tear gas from the police as they waited to enter the stadium, with a 36-minute delay from the start, while there were also reports of fan attacks as they left the Saint-Denis pitch.
Reds left-back Andy Robertson has beaten some members of the organization, while Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois shared his concern for the English club’s fans. Liverpool itself, meanwhile, has issued a statement demanding an investigation into the facts, and McAteer’s experience is far from isolated.
Liverpool fans should stay high after unforgivable scenes and the final nightmare of Paris, the chaos of the Champions League final: UEFA’s atrocious and horrific lies should not hold fans accountable
“My wife was assaulted, which was sad,” McAteer told LFC TV. “My eldest son was attacked. You shouldn’t go to a football game and you have to face it. It’s bad. It’s annoying, it’s scary.”
The 50-year-old made the same comments on social media, calling UEFA directly. “@UEFAcom very responsible, as well as the land administrators and the French police,” he wrote. “I hope everyone gets out of this shitty program safely.”

Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique shared his support for McAteer after reading about the experience of the Irish international. “I’m very sorry to hear this friend. Let’s see if they take care of @UEFA,” the Spaniard wrote.
“Still blaming @UEFA fans?” Jose Enrique wrote in a separate tweet. “I’m going to tweet all the news I receive about this until you say something @UEFA. The easiest thing is to blame someone else e? Take the blame and responsibility of this @UEFA.”
The 36-year-old man also shared a video of fans with tear gas at the end of the game. Any excuses for that? Are the fans wrong again? ”He asked
“[The Champions League final] it’s one of the best events on the planet and fans pay fortunes to be there and support their teams and are treated that way. Shameful. # justice “.

Following the events in and around the Stade de France, the UK government has also launched an investigation. Merseyside police had praised the behavior of Liverpool fans, while many in the UK have questioned Paris authorities.
“The images and stories of Liverpool fans and the media about his entry into the Stade de France last night are deeply worrying,” said UK Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries. “Thousands of ticket holders traveled to Paris in time to support their team in the most important match of their season.
“I urge UEFA to launch a formal investigation into what went wrong and why, in coordination with the stadium staff, the French police, the French Football Federation, the Merseyside police and Liverpool Football Club. It is in the interest of all involved to understand what happened and to learn from these events. ”
