Liverpool reject £ 30m bid for Bayern Munich’s Sadio Mane amid interest in Senegal striker

Liverpool have rejected a £ 30million bid from Bayern Munich for Senegal striker Sadio Mane.

The offer included £ 6.5m in add-ons, which Liverpool believe are unrealistic, and would require Bayern to win the Champions League three times, as well as Mane lifting three Golden Ball trophies.

The Reds value the 30-year-old, who is about to enter the final year of his contract at Anfield, at around £ 43 million.

They have already rejected another offer from Bayern, for an initial £ 21 million with another £ 4m in add-ons.

Mark McAdam says Liverpool and Bayern Munich are still a long way from agreeing a valuation for striker Sadio Mane after the German club turned down a second offer.

Last week, Mané said he would do “what the Senegalese people want” when asked about his future, and more recently joked that he could sign for Marseille in Ligue 1.

Mane and his striker Mo Salah are out of contract at Anfield next summer, and Bayern have been preparing a three-year deal for the African Cup of Nations winner.

Sadio Mane will do what people want when he responds to an online poll in Senegal that said 60-70% of people want him to leave Liverpool.

Before the Champions League final, he told Sky Sports News that he would decide his future after the defeat to Real Madrid, but mocked the fans before the CAN qualifying match last week against Benin.

He said: “Like everyone else, I’m on social media and I see the comments. Aren’t between 60 and 70 percent of Senegalese people who want me to leave Liverpool?

“I’ll do whatever they want. See you soon! Don’t be in a hurry because we’ll see it together.”
