Police have raided a parking lot at the Britannia Woods Community House complex and are asking people to avoid the area.

“Overall, this neighborhood is pretty quiet and peaceful,” said Cardian Currie, who lives in the neighborhood but didn’t see what happened.

“We have a lot of kids here and we have a lot of good programs for kids. So when we see things like that, it bothers us.”

A man seriously injured in a second daytime shooting in two days

Ottawa police are investigating after a 26-year-old man was shot in the Britannia Park neighborhood Wednesday afternoon, just a day after another shooting left a man seriously injured on Banff Avenue. It is unclear whether the two incidents are related.

The shooting comes a day after a man was shot at an Ottawa community housing complex on Banff Avenue.

It is unclear whether the two facts are related.

“Tenant safety and security is Ottawa Community Housing’s top priority,” the organization wrote in an emailed statement Wednesday evening.

“OCH cannot provide further details about these separate incidents, as both are currently under investigation by the Ottawa Police Service.”

The victim of Tuesday’s shooting was still in critical condition at the hospital on Wednesday, police said.
