Manchester United fans have criticized the transfer bosses of the Premier League giants after seeing Manchester City agree on a fee for Leeds star Kalvin Phillips.
Phillips will move to Etihad Stadium with a deal worth £ 45 million in total, including £ 3 million in potential bonuses. The England international is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in the top tier, having played for Leeds and the Three Lions in recent seasons.
He will now link up with champion Pep Guardiola, replacing veteran Fernandinho. Phillips will be the third arrival of the summer for City, with Julian Alavrez expected to join the team he joined in January in the coming weeks and with Erling Haaland already signed.

And to further infuriate his fan base, just an hour after the news of City’s successful bid for Phillips became known, United posted a video of right-back Diogo Dalot previewing his upcoming tour. This prompted Red Devils fans to point to the club’s strategy for the summer.
“City probably didn’t have to make any signings even though they just signed Haaland and Phillips. United need about 10 players and haven’t signed anyone. Standards,” one wrote. Another excited: “Your neighbors have just won the league and have already signed 3 quality players. Aren’t you ashamed?”

Phillips is expected to complete his move to the Manchester blue half over the next week as he prepares to return to the preseason. Meanwhile, United are struggling to achieve Ten Hag’s main goals.
