McDonald’s has revealed the most “unique” ways in which Australians drive one of their favorite pastimes: eating burgers.

To commemorate National Hamburger Day, which falls today, Saturday, May 28, the fast food giant looked at the six techniques that fans use to hold food and how they differentiate us from the rest of the world.

“We know Australians love burgers and are excited to celebrate National Hamburger Day,” McDonald’s Australia’s senior brand director Maxine Netrayana told news.com.au.

“We wanted to introduce Macca’s Holds to recognize our loyal customers and their unique way of enjoying our burgers.”

According to Macca, these are the most common ways people like to enjoy:

The Double Pinkie Lift – when you lift your back [of the burger] with your little fingers and keep everything as it is.

Hand Tray – when you used one hand to lift the burger while the other grabbed any “dripping sauce and lettuce-yum”.

The Box Catcher – when “you put this cheeky box into action without any emotion”.

The Roundabite – a two-fingered shot where you “drag the edges” of your burger.

The Ol ‘Trusty – the “classic two-handed and augmented”.

And the uncontroversial Grip Flip – when “grab and turn the burger to use the firm top bread”.

Ms Netrayana said “every winery is unique in its own way, and whatever your favorite burger is, there’s a Macca winery for everyone.”

For the past four years, the Golden Arches have sold an average of 41 million Big Macs each year, so suffice it to say that if anyone knows how they like to eat burgers for Australians, it’s them.
