Meet Me on Bernard will return to downtown Kelowna this summer with more things to see and experience.

From the first day of July to September 5, Bernard Avenue will be transformed into an outdoor pedestrian mall with live music, expanded courtyards, public art, local commerce, street games, free programs and much more.

The executive director of the Downtown Kelowna Association, Mark Burley, is ready for what he would classify as a classic Kelowna summer, as Meet Me on Bernard has quickly become a staple for the city at this time of year. the year.

“It’s the perfect way to support the recovery of downtown businesses while reconnecting with friends and family,” he said.

Kelowna City Mayor Colin Basran says it has been exciting to see how this event evolves from a temporary pandemic measure to a vibrant, energetic platform for community connection that animates our public spaces.

“Whether you’re a business owner, artist, cooking lover or just looking for a good time, Meet Me on Bernard has something for you this summer,” Basran said.

Meet Me on Bernard will run seven days a week throughout the summer and will close access to traffic from the candles to St. Paul.

Traffic will be cut off from June 27 when the City Council begins to settle.
