Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was arrested for allegedly drunk driving after a two-vehicle collision in his home state of California on Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol and court records.
The CHP says Pelosi, 82, was driving a 2021 Porsche that was hit by a 2014 Jeep while Pelosi’s car was trying to cross a state highway in Napa County. Pelosi was admitted to the Napa County Detention Center on two DUI-related charges.
He was released Sunday morning on $ 5,000 bail, according to court records.
No one was injured and the driver of the jeep was not arrested, the CHP added.
“The spokeswoman will not comment on this private matter that happened while on the east coast,” a Pelosi spokesman told CBS News.
Nancy Pelosi was in Rhode Island on Saturday delivering her graduation speech at Brown University.
