Celebrity gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi has cast doubt on the “real” itinerary of Kim Kardashian’s trip Down Under with boyfriend Pete Davidson.
The reality star recently flew out to spend the weekend with Davidson while he was in Cairns filming a new movie. Wizards!
Since then, several companies have claimed to have seen or served the couple, and all of them have since been proven to be false, or at least have no concrete proof.
While there are paparazzi photos of Kardashian landing at Cairns airport, so we know she was definitely here, Deuxmoi wonders why they worked so hard to hide their trip and what did they actually do?
Look, to be fair, the answer to the first half is probably that the relatively young couple wanted to be alone, away from the cameras and the super-involved Kardashian family.
The answer to the second is more up in the air, although the strongest suggestion seems to be that the beloved celebrities were hiding out in the Daintree. At the luxurious retreat, Silky Oaks Lodge to be exact.
This eco-friendly stay is basically the first place people mention when they talk about luxury in North Queensland, and it’s possibly been chosen by Kim to try and make up for the private jet she flew into the country (just kidding, that probably didn’t occur to her ).
Nestled in the rainforest near Mossman Gorge, rooms cost between $690 and $5,000 a night, and the on-site restaurant is considered an experience in itself.
Whatever the more famous Kardashian does, Tourism Tropical North Queensland chief executive Mark Olsen told reporters he hoped it would boost tourism in the area.
“It’s certainly created a lot of interest with expectations rising that one of the Kardashians would finally make it to Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef,” he said.
“Now it will generate even more interest. Over the last couple of years, internet traffic has increased dramatically because there are so many things for people to discover… We hope Kim Kardashian is here to prove it.”
