63 minutes. Water rest time allows Ireland to make some submarines.
Rob Herring and Jack Conan are in Dan Sheehan and Caelan Doris.
62 minutes. An All Black attack picks up some momentum with Jordie Barrett close to being out before a desperate, brilliant tackle from Doris drops him off. The ball goes back to work inside but NZ doesn’t roll and Ireland have a penalty to relieve.
Sail Fakatava replaces Aaron Smith for New Zealand.
60 minutes. Another scrum, another penalty for Ireland, as Tu’ungafasi is pinged to collapse. But Sexton couldn’t find the touch, or more accurately, got the ball just above the line, but Reece acrobatically returned it.
57 minutes. NZ is spinning the submarine wheel. Richie Mo’unga replaces Beauden Barrett
PENAL! New Zealand 7 – 20 Ireland (Johnny Sexton)
56 minutes. Some nice phases of Ireland on offense work like an overlay on the right, which was ruined by James Lowe throwing a two-mistake pass that misses everyone, but people stayed on the wrong side of the sideline.
Still, he had an advantage and Sexton gets up and caresses her by the sticks.
53 minutes. Ireland’s pack put the hammer in the fray and caused the All Blacks eight back to win a penalty. This is a decent sign at this stage.
Sexton finds the touch in the New Zealand half.

52 minutes. The All Blacks are back in the middle of Ireland and want to gather too much in a maul before the ball breaks and Ofa Tu’ungafasi touches it.
50 minutes. New Zealand replaces Leicester Fainga’anuku with Will Jordan.
TRY! New Zealand 7 – 17 Ireland (Andrew Porter)
49 minutes. Another great transport from Aki puts Ireland in the middle of NZ, moving towards O’Mahony, who has been diverted before a few more phases bring the ball to the line. The final phase is a pick and drive by Porter to score again.
Sexton adds two. Ireland loves to score early against this team.

45 minutes. A Bundee Aki carry puts Ireland’s attack on the All Black 22, but again it’s a bit stagnant with time out before the ball is lost and New Zealand backfire.
43 minutes. Gibson-Park pulls the blind man out of a scrum and kicks for Hansen to chase her. The winger never got there, haggles at the touch and NZ clears it up.
Retallick has left the field for an HIA, replaced by Patrick Tuipolotu.
41 minutes. It is confirmed that Gary Ringrose will not return, so Bundee Aki remains in the center.
Second half!
40 minutes. All Black safely gathers Sexton’s throw and after a couple of throws, Ireland is on the ball in the home half before Ref Peyper explodes while Retallick looks bad after bouncing his head into Henshaw’s pelvis in an entry.
Half-time reflections
All in all, Ireland is doing a terrible job here. They have played most of the half against less than fifteen and have had and all you can eat possession possession buffet of the territory. Unfortunately, on accessing this buffet they have dropped the dishes frequently, forgotten their cutlery or allowed the New Zealand boys to get to the good vol-au-vents.
A tortured analogy? Sure, but nothing as tortured as the green men’s goal attempts from minute ten. Jamison Gibson-Park needs to be replaced and James Ryan could be content to check that his brain is not in the other scrum cap.
New Zealand has hampered and frustrated everything, and Ringrose should have received a penalty kick, but Ireland will never have a better chance of beating NZ than this and so far they are letting it go through their hands, often literally in this first half. .
Half time!
PEEEEEEEEP. This is the end of the first forty.
TRY! New Zealand 7 – 10 Ireland (Beauden Barrett)
40 + 1 minutes. All the black players take turns pumping their legs towards such an appetizing Irish line. The ball is twisted from the back of a ruck under the posts and Beauden Barrett gently sinks it forward with his foot and then puts it on the ground and scores before converting his own attempt.

YELLOW CARD! James Ryan.
39 minutes. Another NZ penalty, this one on the five-meter line, is touched by Codie Taylor before James Ryan gives him ten minutes for repeated team infractions.
All blacks will come again.
37 minutes. New Zealand have a lineout in the middle of Ireland claiming and advancing in a maul while the referee plays a penalty advantage. He wasn’t going anywhere, and the referee sent him off Beauden Barrett.
There is a very real possibility that NZ could end this half with a test after spending his entire life so far in his own half.
There is a pause in the game as the referee has detected that NZ has fifteen players on the field despite having a red card. It was an obvious ambition of Ardie Savea to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Wow! This is a big loss in the context of this game.
35 minutes. Scrum is indisputable for reasons I can’t fully understand at this stage. Ireland makes a good pattern in the back to find James Lowe making a bow in the middle of the field from his side, but the big one touches it! The New Zealand boot clears the resulting scrum.
33 minutes. Ireland have had two plays on the NZ line since lined up, each ending with a penalty given by the All Blacks. The last one is Codie Taylor who collapses the maul and Peyper has warned Sam Cane that the letters are coming.
Ireland have yet to score from the tenth minute and take a melee in the last attempt to rectify it.
Ardie Savea has left for Aidan Ross because a front row is required after the red card.
RED CARD! Angus Ta’avao
31 minutes. In the midst of this, Angus Ta’avao was very straight and very powerful in Ringrose. There is no mitigation and the secondary support is off, blood running down his face.
So NZ is back at thirteen for now, and fourteen for the rest of the game (except more cards!).
30 minutes. Codie Taylor gives Dan Marino the full throw for Quinn Tupaea, but the center hits Van Der Flier, who makes a shot on his own, but there is an advantage that is played for some reason before another cop. close the game.
That’s about 174 times in that half.
27 minutes. Ireland has a scrum with New Zealand currently playing with thirteen men. The visitors have the ball but everything is a bit inaccurate and the advanced defense All Black is doing a good job to contain the attack so far. Better than that, the TMO has detected a green nock-on and NZ will have a scrum to clear the ball and Leicester Fainga’anuku has played again.
Ireland needs another try before the break. They are at the forefront both in game and in number of players.

YELLOW CARD! Ofa Tu’ungafasi
25 minutes. Ireland is on the ball and until the 22nd of New Zealand, they are working on a series of phases, and while Sexton is looking to throw the ball to Ringrose, the Irish center is attacked off the ball by Ofa Tu’ungafasi. The stand is off for ten minutes.
If Ringrose had received this ball, he would have scored. However, there are black shirts in the shot, so Ref Peyper says there was coverage, so there was no penalty attempt, but anyone who has seen rugby knows Ringrose was there.
21 minutes. On an All Black line, James Ryan slaps Scott Barrett uselessly on the back after the NZ blocker claims the ball. This is one of the dumbest sanctions I’ve ever seen, the right shoulder things in the corner.
19 minutes. At the end of it all, Sexton puts her in the corner instead of going for the sticks. The lineup is reunited but in the maul the ball will not come out and it will be an All Black scrum. Then this cock-up gets worse with Van Der Flier who broke the scrum prematurely to give a penalty to relieve the territory in New Zealand.
How important will this touch decision be in the end?
YELLOW CARD! Leicester Fainga’anuku
17 minutes. Mack Hansen is downed with blood seeping through a cut on his cheek. It was caused because Leicester Fainga’anuku jumped on him when he tried to block Hansen’s kick. Ref Peyper looks up and says it was first contact with the chest, then with the head, so it’s yellow.
This was quite reckless, the contact with the chest was out of control and the shoulder first. It is always rare to reflect on the outcome in these situations.
15 minutes. The Irish defense plays as if everyone has returned home to find an All Black in bed with his partner. Absolutely smoking. This is limiting NZ’s progress and forcing a change of direction after a few phases. The last of which is hit by Quinn Tupaea chasing.
PENAL! New Zealand – Ireland 0-10 (Johnny Sexton)
13 minutes. Caelan Doris hits Retallick on the ruck and catches the ball to win a very useful penalty on the NZ 10m line. He is practically in front and the captain gets up and directs him.
10 minutes. There is a pause in the game as Peter O’Mahony has a bit of treatment on his arm. In the end it looks good.
So far match on the field, if not yet on the scoreboard. Both teams doing decent things and dropping the ball too.
9 minutes. The All Blacks are building phases ominously in the middle of Ireland and a bewildered James Lowe pulls back Quinn Tupaea to give a penalty. He can be kicked, but Beauden Barrett puts him in the corner, a continuation of last week’s intent, before James Ryan does.
Ireland cleans it.
6 minutes. New Zealand decide it’s their turn to play a bit as they catch and drive a lineout to their own 10m line before releasing the sides. Jordie Barrett is about to leave but Ireland’s defense is up to the task and clears the ball, but he touches it as he does so.
