Dear Perth TV news reader Yvette Mooney has died sadly after a long battle with cancer.
The Channel Seven presenter died surrounded by family on Saturday night at the age of 58.

The tragic development comes after the journalist, who first entered the living rooms of Western Australians in 1984, walked away from the cameras in 2008 after being diagnosed.
What followed was a 16-year private battle against his illness.

Channel Seven Perth presenters Susannah Carr and Rick Ardon have paid tribute to their former teammate, whom they describe as “the complete package”.
“She was a very good journalist and she was a beautiful girl both inside and out,” Carr said.
“It was beautiful to see, a beautiful voice, but a very nice and lovely nature to be around.”
Ardon said the talented journalist would be sorely missed.
“Yvette always had a warmth for her and spoke very easily in front of the camera,” he said.
“Some of us have to work as we talk, but with Yvette it was natural. She was a beautiful person and we will miss her.”

Mooney began her media career as a 7NEWS reporter before moving to the newsroom reading weekend newsletters.
In 1995 she became the first presenter of the Today Tonight news program before later heading to Perth at Five with Basil Zempilas.
The presenter is survived by her husband Phil and son Andre.
In a statement, his family said they were heartbroken by the tragic death.
“Our hearts are broken, but our precious angel Vetti is at peace after a long battle with cancer,” they wrote.
“His grace and courage were an inspiration.”
“Yvette’s beautiful heart, kindness, wisdom and that magnificent smile enriched our lives.”
