Prior to the launch of new iPhone models, case makers often create simulated models based on filtered schematics and specifications. We’ve known the design of the iPhone 14 line for a long time, and this week we have a set of simulated units to see the design updates for ourselves.
Since there is a lot of money to have a case ready for a new “iPhone” before launch, simulated models are usually quite accurate, so these fake devices “iPhone 14” give us a clear picture of what we can expect to see.
In terms of design, the iPhone 14 models will look a lot like the iPhone 13 models, but with one notable exception: there will be no iPhone 14 mini. Instead, Apple is manufacturing two 6.1-inch iPhones (iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro), along with two 6.7-inch iPhones (iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max).
For Pro models, the notch will be replaced by holes and clip-shaped cuts for the camera and Face ID equipment. The design of the hole and the pill is not much different from a notch, but it will free up space and make the front cameras less annoying. Standard iPhone 14 models will continue to have a notch.
We know there are some minor changes to device sizes, but when we compare a simulated unit to the iPhone 13 line in person, it’s hard to know. There are small changes in the screen sizes of the iPhone 14 Pro models, but in everyday use, you won’t notice them.
The camera shots will be a little thicker and wider on the Pro models to fit the 48-megapixel camera that Apple is adding. Standard iPhone 14 models won’t see many design changes.
Weight, material and color are factors we can’t deduce from the simulated models, but rumors suggest that the iphone 14 models will have the same structure as the previous generation versions, although we could see a new purple color highlighted both for the standard as for the previous version. Pro models.
Apple’s “iPhone 14” and “iPhone 14 Pro” models will have more differences than ever before, and Pro models are expected to adopt an A16 chip while Apple continues to use an A15 chip in standard models. 14Iphone 14 Pro models will also have more advanced camera systems, ProMotion screens that are likely to support an always-on display feature and more.
