Twelve million people are expected to hold street parties over the Jubilee weekend, according to ITV News’ Chris Ship.
Britain is hanging the pennant in preparation for a weekend of celebrations to honor the Queen’s platinum jubilee.
A series of events have been planned across the country, while thousands of communities are organizing their own jubilee festivities and activities to mark the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty’s throne.
Here’s everything you need to know to join the celebrations.
When are the Jubilee Holidays?
The UK has been given an additional day off on Friday 3 June, which is labeled as a later May holiday than usual, which is now Thursday 2 June. The events will take place throughout the weekend.

Thousands of great jubilee lunches and big lunches take place across the UK. Find your local event on the interactive map. So far, 2,429 public events and 2,721 street parties or private events have been shared, so you’re likely to be close to a cucumber sandwich from your nearest knees.

What royal events can I attend?
Queen’s Birthday Parade (Trooping the Color) – Thursday, June 2
More than 1,400 soldiers marching, 200 horses and 400 musicians will gather on June 2. You can watch the parade from 10 a.m. onwards as you walk from Buckingham Palace, the mall to the Horse Guard parade, along with members of the royal family on horseback and in carriages. The parade will close with the traditional RAF flyover, watched by the Queen and members of the royal family from the balcony of Buckingham Palace. If you can’t get there in person, it will be broadcast on BBC One. The Royal Air Force crossing takes place at 1pm and can be seen from The Mall.
The royals join in the big lunches
Members of the royal family should share friendship, food, and fun at special lunches to celebrate the queen’s 70th birthday.
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will meet with guests at a party at The Oval Cricket Ground in south London, while the Earl and Countess of Wessex will join members of the local Windsor community. .
Pudding platinum, scrambled eggs and fruit plates will be featured in a six-meter felt creation by artist Lucy Sparrow that Charles and Camilla will be able to see at The Oval.
The royal couple will also present the Platinum Champions with certificates and pins, before cutting a Big Jubilee Lunch cake.

Platinum Jubilee Contest – Sunday, June 5th
Sunday’s pageant will combine street arts, theater, music, circus, carnival and costume. The ambitious £ 15 million competition is divided into four events: For Queen and Country with a military parade; The Time of Our Lives advances through seven decades of culture, music and fashion; Let’s celebrate by telling the story of the queen’s life in 12 chapters with corgi puppets and carnival creations; and the musical show Happy and Glorious.
An important part of the event is the “River of Hope” procession, where high school students from across the UK will carry 200 silk flags with children’s artwork of their hopes and aspirations for the planet during the next 70 years.
The effect is designed to emulate a moving river.

Platinum Party at the Palace – Saturday June 4
The Platinum Party At The Palace concert will take place at Buckingham Palace, featuring Queen + Adam Lambert, Alicia Keys, Hans Zimmer, Ella Eyre, Craig David, Mabel, Elbow and George Ezra, among others.
Ticket voting has already closed, but if you are not the lucky winner of the draw, it will be broadcast live.
A great final suitable for a queen: Sunday 3 June
Nearly 200 national treasures will take to the stage to give a serenade to the queen singing the national anthem at the grand finale of the Platinum Jubilee festivities.
Stars such as Sir David Jason, Harry Redknapp, Sir Cliff Richard, Sandie Shaw, Felicity Kendal, Joe Wicks and Holly Willoughby will join Ed Sheeran in a massive rendition of God Save The Queen outside Buckingham Palace at the end of Sunday’s pageant.

The monarch is expected to appear on the balcony, the second of his planned appearances on the famous façade over the weekend, to close the national commemorations.
The Tower of London Superbloom – from 1 June
To commemorate the Jubilee, more than 20 million seeds have been planted in the moat of the historic royal palace that will be developed and transformed over the summer to create a beautiful and new naturalistic landscape.
