Ricky Martin will testify against his nephew after the sex claims

Ricky Martin will appear in court today after his nephew obtained a restraining order against him.

The temporary order was granted under Puerto Rico’s Domestic Violence Prevention and Intervention Act earlier this month and ends today.

Livin ‘La Vida Loca singer Martin, 50, has denied all charges against him.

His lawyer told NBC News that Martin “will address the judge directly at the hearing,” denying any romantic or sexual relations with his nephew and challenging the allegations that haunted and harassed him.

The protection order alleges that Martin and his nephew maintained a romantic relationship for seven months, but have since separated.

Martin’s nephew’s name was removed from the documents, but representatives of the pop star confirmed who he was after rumors circulated online last week.

After the order was granted, Martin’s lawyer, Marty Singer, told the American channel Deadline: “Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges.

“Ricky Martin, of course, has never been and would never be involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew.

“The idea is not only false, it’s disgusting.”

Incest-related crimes in Puerto Rico can carry a sentence of up to 50 years.

In response to the original order, Martin shared a brief statement on social media earlier this month.

He told fans, “The protection order introduced against me is based on completely false allegations, so I will respond through the court process with the facts and dignity that characterizes me.

“As it is an ongoing legal matter, I cannot make detailed statements at this time. I am grateful for the countless messages of solidarity, and I receive them wholeheartedly.”

The court hearing will take place in the Municipal Court of San Juan, where a judge will decide whether to extend the protection order for a longer period of time or close the case.
