Samsung will unveil two new folding Galaxy phones at an “Unpacked” event on August 10, rumors suggest.

Philadelphia-based filter Evan Blass has posted a promotional image of Samsung, showing a blurred outline of a new folding phone and the text “August 10, 2022.”

The phone is suspected to be the Galaxy Z Flip 4, the fourth generation of phones with a flexible glass screen that allows it to fold a central horizontal hinge.

In the promotional image, the device appears to be Bora Purple in color and is folded at a 90-degree angle, with bright light emanating from the screen.

Also on Unpacked, Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Fold 4, which, like its predecessors, will likely have a vertical hinge and act as a 2-in-1 device.

When closed, the Galaxy Fold looks like a smartphone, but when deployed it offers the user a large tablet-like screen, suitable for watching movies while moving.

Samsung’s family of folding phones is known for their exciting price tags, some of which exceed the £ 1,500 mark.

Blass posted the promotional image on Twitter on Monday, although the image itself has been removed from the tweet “in response to a report from the copyright holder,” a good indicator that the image is genuine.

According to Blass, Samsung is likely to officially reveal all the details about its August Unpacked event in a few days.

The image corroborates information shared on Twitter last month by Arkansas filter and YouTube presenter Jon Prosser.

Prosser said the two new folding phones would launch on Aug. 10, the same day that pre-orders begin, and will go on sale on Aug. 26.

Last week, Blass released “official dams” of the Galaxy Z Flip 4, showing it sideways as it folded and unfolded.

Blass said neither the fourth-generation Galaxy Z Fold nor the Galaxy Z Flip will see “major design changes” compared to its predecessors, which were announced in August last year and are still in the sale.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a main screen that measures 7.6 inches when deployed and an outer cover screen that measures 6.2 inches and costs up to £ 1,699.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is also Samsung’s first folding device to include an S Pen, which is commonly found in the company’s Note range.

Meanwhile, the £ 1,000 £ 1,000 Galaxy Z Flip 3 opens up like a retro 90s phone thanks to a horizontal hinge in the center of the screen.

It is designed to emulate the classic folding phones of the 2000s, including the Samsung S500 and T609.

Users can bend the device at a 90-degree angle to take videos and photos and enjoy hands-free video chat.

Both third-generation folding phones are 5G compatible and have IPX8 water resistance.

Samsung’s original folding device, the Galaxy Fold, has been making years since its initial idea and patent stages.

It was released in September 2019, following technical issues that prevented its worldwide release, including reports of broken screens after only a few days of use.

The first generation of the Galaxy Z Flip was launched in February 2020, although it was replaced six months later by a 5G compatible version.

SAMSUNG PRESENTS FOLDING WILD DEVICES AT CES 2022

Samsung introduced several new folding devices at CES 2022 in Las Vegas, both smartphones and laptops that have an S or G-shaped design.

The “S” design features three panels that unfold to make a device look like a larger tablet, while the “G” folds inward on all sides, allowing you to store the device without scratching the screen.

During a presentation at CES, Samsung showed off the Flex Note that went from a 13-inch to 17-inch tablet when it was fully expanded, and the Flex Slidable smartphone with a screen that extends to the side.

While these devices are concepts, Samsung launched a new smartphone at the consumer tech event: the Galaxy S21 FE.
