Today’s trailer for Violet and Scarlet Pokémon has revealed key details about upcoming Nintendo Switch games, such as the series’ first ability to explore the world of gaming in a four-player group.
Speaking of the game world, this will be the first Pokémon role-playing game where you can freely explore the entire map from the start, and “not in an order dictated by history,” as The Pokémon Company clarified today.
“Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet allow multiplayer play with up to four players,” The Pokémon Company said. “With the basics of the series, such as trading and fighting Pokémon, you’ll be able to explore different locations in the region in these games with other players. Exploration is described as a completely open world, rather than the smaller areas we’ve seen in other recent Pokémon games.

Today’s trailer has also confirmed the world release date of November 18th. Digital bookings are now available through the Nintendo Switch eShop.
