Police have released shocking surveillance footage moments after a teenager was punched and stabbed in the CBD in Sydney.

Police have released shocking surveillance footage showing the moment immediately after a teenager was attacked in Sydney’s CBD.

The 15-year-old was walking down Sydney’s Barrack Street at 3.45am on Sunday when he was allegedly involved in an argument with a man.

NSW police allege the man approached the teenager and punched him in the head, knocking him to the ground.

While the 15-year-old was shot, the man hit him on the head with a glass bottle.

As a result of the attack, the teenager suffered head and face injuries.

He was treated at the paramedic site before being transferred to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in stable condition.

In CCTV footage released by police, the man can be seen walking down King Street moments after the attack.

The 20-year-old man is described as Caucasian, of medium build, short black hair and beard. In the pictures, he is wearing a gray hooded sweater, black jeans and shoes, while wearing a black jacket.

He can be seen stumbling and chatting with a friend as he passes the CBD Hotel on the corner of King and York streets.

The man walks next to two friends, who have blurred faces in the picture. Neither is charged with any crime.
