Fleur East has been announced as the twelfth celebrity taking part in this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The former X Factor star, 34, made the announcement on Thursday during her Hits Radio Beakfast show where she said: “You’ll see me in the ballroom on Strictly Come Dancing!”
The singer also explained that it was an “honour” to be asked to take part in the show and she hopes her late father Malcolm would be proud.

She said: “I’m equally nervous and excited to be part of this year’s Strictly line-up. I’m excited to learn new skills and want to soak up every moment of this magical experience.
“It’s an honor to be on the show after years of watching it with my dad who I loved so much. Sadly, my dad is no longer with us, but I know he’ll be watching over the ballroom in spirit. I’m doing this to make him and my family proud and I can’t wait to put on my dancing shoes!’
After finishing runner-up in series 11 of The X Factor, Fleur has been a regular face in the world of music and broadcasting.
As a singer he has released two albums, with his debut single Sax reaching number three in the UK Singles Chart.

After appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2018 she became the host of the Hits Radio Breakfast show which she presents every weekday.

It comes after retired England footballer and manager Tony Adams MBE was announced as the 11th celebrity confirmed to take part in Strictly.

Speaking ahead of her debut on the dance floor, Molly said: “I’ve always loved performing and being on stage, but I’ve never been the most confident dancer.
“I am very excited for the challenge of pushing myself outside of my comfort zone and look forward to adding another string to my bow.
‘It will introduce me to a whole new way of expressing myself! I am also quite competitive and am excited to meet the pros and the other contestants.
“And on top of all that, I absolutely love the glitz and glamor that the show brings every week.”
Rising star: Molly’s star rose to prominence when she competed on Britain’s Got Talent in 2012 aged 11.
The singer grew up in Essex and studied at the coveted Sylvia Young Theater School after auditioning for BGT in 2012.
He added: “I did Britain’s Got Talent in 2012 when I was 11. It definitely changed my life because after I got to the final I got sponsored by Sony Music and Simon Cowell to go to drama school Sylvia Young From those auditions at school, I entered the world of CBBC.

This autumn, Molly will be seen on CBBC screens as Nova Jones returns for series two, with a third series already filmed for release in the coming months.
