The global smart watch market is booming, growing double-digit growth for the fifth consecutive quarter.
The first three months of 2022 saw a 13% year-over-year increase, according to Counterpoint Research’s Global Smartwatch Model Tracker.
Apple has maintained its strong market leadership, gaining a 36 percent market share during the March quarter. Counterpoint notes that this advantage could increase as the year progresses.
Samsung is pushing hard, with a 46% year-over-year increase in shipments, with the Galaxy Watch 4 seeing a significant increase in Asia Pacific market share.
Huawei’s shipments remained flat, but the Chinese technology giant managed to stay in third place, while Xiaomi and Garmin were fourth and fifth.
Interestingly, Garmin ranked third in terms of revenue, thanks to its more expensive models.
