Adam Morgenstern, a graduate student at St. Mary’s College Receives $ 36,000 Academic Merit Scholarship from the Founders of the University of Guelph-Humber for Four Years
The St. Mary’s College (SMC) has announced that Adam Morgenstern, who is part of the 2022 graduate class, has received a $ 36,000 academic merit scholarship from the founders of the University of Guelph-Humber for four years.
According to the press release, Morgenstern has been a student counselor on the Huron Higher Catholic District School Board (HSCDSB) for the past two years. He was also co-chair of the Student Senate and a member of the SMC Student Council.
With this scholarship, Morgenstern hopes to have fewer financial worries and “have more time and energy” to get involved in her studies and the school community.

Graduates of St. Mary’s College (SMC) is excited about the school’s first face-to-face graduation in two years on June 28, and for a graduating Knight to look forward to his post-secondary studies it has become much easier.
Adam Morgenstern, part of the 2022 graduate class, has received a $ 36,000 academic merit scholarship from the founders of the University of Guelph-Humber for four years.
“I was thrilled when I was informed that I had been selected for the Founders Scholarship. I had applied for the award because entering Guelph-Humber, I want to make the most of my college experience and I want to make a difference. With this scholarship, I will focus less on financial concerns and have more time and energy to participate in my educational and school community, ”said Morgenstern.
“This is wonderful news for a wonderful student. Adam has been an excellent leader at St. Mary’s College in many areas, and we are very proud to have played a role in allowing him to benefit in this way. “Receiving this award while attending college is a testament to his determination and the guidance he received from our team of educators,” said Colleen Hannah, principal of St. Mary’s College.
Morgenstern has been a student counselor on the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board (HSCDSB) for the past two years. He was also co-chair of the Student Senate and a member of the SMC Student Council. In addition to these roles, Morgenstern was the media design coordinator for the Executive Board of the Ontario Student Association and was part of the association’s Communication and Equity and Inclusion working groups. He also participated in football, cross country, track and field and badminton.
These government roles have aroused Morgenstern’s desire to be equally involved in post-secondary school life.
“I look forward to getting involved in Guelph Humber’s student government and having a role in organizing the annual EMERGE conference and magazine. I will look for opportunities to continue my social advocacy and make a difference in my community,” Morgenstern said.

I have had the opportunity to follow and work closely with Adam during his tenure as student counselor and co-chair of the student senator, and he has shown tremendous maturity. Morgenstern has entered the four-year program of Media and Communication Studies. Her goal is to earn an honorary degree in Applied Arts in Media and Communication Studies from the University of Guelph and a diploma in Media Communication from Humber College.
