The suspect located after the shooting in Langham is calling for an emergency alert

The initial alert was issued at 7:40 a.m. Friday when the RCMP responded to a report of a shooting in the city in northwest Saskatoon. The suspect was identified as Justin Heimbecker.

The alert was canceled at 12:05 pm and police believe there is no further risk to public safety and the reception order was canceled.

According to Corman Park police, Heimbecker was found shortly before noon on Friday and there is no longer any threat to the public.

The local police service supported the RCMP, but was unable to share further details about the incident.

In a press release, the RCMP said officers found a dead man inside a Langham home around 11:40 p.m. The house was on fire in the early hours of the day. The deceased is believed to be Justin Heimbecker, but cannot be confirmed at this time
